Financial Literacy Field Trip to OURCU:

OURCU is proud to volunteer in the classrooms to help prepare our local students for an adventure to JA Biztown!

JA Biztown is a fantastic real life mock environment for students to understand both running a business and acting as a consumer. Educators, volunteers, and staff work together to help kids understand financial literacy across the board!

OURCU staff works directly with local educators ahead of time, to develop extra lessons that will help prepare them for their exploration of Biztown. The core practices help the kids understand the value of saving, the differences between debit and credit cards, how to write a check, and provide real life practice of approaching our frontline staff to do transactions during their visit to the credit union.
